Sick Child:

1. What if my child is sick over the weekend?
If your child is sick over the weekend you need not worry because we have five doctors in our call group and one of them will always be on call. You need to call our office and find out available on call doctor and their contact information. You then need to call their office and make an appointment to be seen.

2. What if my baby is sick and needs to be seen in the evening? (e.g. after 5 PM)
If your baby is sick and needs to get advice after 5PM then call our triage nurse and she can direct you if necessary, on call doctor will be paged. Emergency hospitals that we are affiliated with are Community Hospital of Los Gatos and Good Samaritan Hospital but we do suggest if it is an emergency then which ever hospital that is closer is the one you need to get to.

3. What information should I have when I call about a sick baby?
When calling please be prepared to write down instructions or advice you are given. It is easy to forget or misunderstand instructions. Have the phone number and hours of your near by pharmacy in the event we need to call in medication. Take your child's temperature before calling. knowing the accurate temperature is essential for our staff to be able to assist you properly.

4. What do I need to bring when I come in for an appointment?
You need to bring 1. Insurance Card 2. Yellow Immunization Card 3. Medicine your child is on.

5. What if I miss my appointment?
If you can not keep your scheduled appointment please call us at least 24 hours in advance to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Please consider a missed visit leaves a vacant space that could have allowed another child to be seen. If a patient misses an appointment without giving notice, they will be considered a no-show appointment and be charged a $25.00 fee.

Insurance / Billing:

6. What about billing and insurances?
We accept all PPO insurances, HMO insurances through Santa Clara IPA. Our office bills most primary


insurance companies as a courtesy for our patients. As an office policy we do not bill secondary insurance plans for copayments.

7. When do we have to pay?
Co-pays, Deductibles, & Payment for non-covered services are made at the time of your visit.

8. What are different modes of payment?
We accept all major credit cards () and checks.

9. What if I don't have insurance?
If you don't have insurance or you are in between two insurances we are still happy to see you. Please don't hesitate to ask, we will give you the discounted rate.

10. How much doctor's time will be allocated to each appointment?

Usually 30 min of doctor's time is satisfactor to answer all questions and examine the patient.

11. Is there any charge for phone calls?

If it is a urgent matter or your child is very sick, we recommend taking an appointment to see the doctor ASAP. We promise that you will be given same day appointment. If non urgent question can wait then write it down and ask at the next appointment. If non urgent question can't wait then leave a message with the receptionist and your question will be answered during lunch time or end of the day and your insurance may be billed for phone consultations.
